Discourse of Folk Literature on Healthy Ageing: A Case Study in Sindh, Pakistan during the Pandemic Crisis

Due to COVID-19 and the repeated imposition of lockdowns in Pakistan’s Sindh province, life senior citizens has become challenging. Given scarcity health care policies targeted at Sindh’s aged persons, use folk literature as therapy increased support against isolation, depression, distress caused by lockdowns. Although research on healthy ageing from medical perspectives been increasingly conducted different contexts, there is a need explore how can contribute psychological, spiritual, social wellbeing. Therefore, this research, collecting data 15 participants through interviews conversations, seeks Sindhis have used such poetry, proverbs, tales for their healing. Findings show that participants’ Sindhi contributes psychological (eudemonic, evaluative, hedonic) wellbeing, spiritual healing, satisfaction.
